Hawaii Series #1: Sea Turtle Painting

Kicking off 2018 with the first piece of my tropical/Hawaii series! 🌺

After taking a four year hiatus from painting, to focus on drawing portraits, I felt it was time to take my art in a new direction. 2017 ended in a strange way for me, so arriving into the New Year with a vision and clear objective in mind was crucial. I knew I had to follow what was inspiring me...which is moving to Hawaii! 

So I dusted off the mountain of canvases from my college days and discovered the make-shift easel was still in the trunk of my car. Score! While painting I decided to listen to Sword and Scale, a podcast that my coworkers have been begging me to tune into. Each episode tells a different story about heinous crimes that have been committed over the years. Super captivating and I absolutely love getting lost in the stories, as well as visually in the painting. Escaping is my thing haha
