But over the last couple of years she got her act together, graduated, began eating healthy, fell in love and matured drastically. I couldn't be more happy for my Guita! I call her Guita because she wore so much self-bronzer in college when we went out, that she looked like a Jersey Shore cast member. haha
I also got to see three of my old roommates and a few other friends in the duration of my mini vaca...along with some of my frat bros at the beach bars! Yayyyyy not.
Plus, one of my buddies got super drunk, shouldn't have been driving, dented the front and side of his new car and than smashed his iPhone to smithereens. Never a dull moment.
Luckily, he got everything situated at the mechanic and AT&T store the following day. I'm convinced he did it so he had an excuse to get the iPhone 6 and play Clash of Clans on a bigger screen haha
Here's some wedding pics

As much fun as I had this weekend visiting everyone, I realized how thankful I am that I no longer live in Jax, which was a huge revelation for me. It seemed as though everyone I ran into at the beach bars were in the same exact cliques, going to the same bars every weekend, doing the same thing. I would have probably fell into that trap as well and I'm so happy I didn't because life is all about change and growth. I am perfectly content with visiting every 4 months.
That sounds like a blast! Weddings seem to be all the rage for people our age. (Yep, I meant to rhyme.) I never get tired of seeing friends fall in love and tie the knot; though I don't forsee that in my near future. Lol.
ReplyDeleteOpen bar = unlimited fun!
You're not kidding, everyone is getting married and having kids these days...in no particular order. Love is such a beautiful thing, plus weddings are a pretty great place for singles to mingle. Unfortunately there were only two other gay guys there, one being the bartender, and the other wasn't my type. Maybe one of us will run into the butter guy at a farmer's market sometime this year haha
Deleteyou stepped out of your former "comfort zone" and found out there is so much more to life! granny cougar is proud of you and your mature attitude! and what a pretty bride; many many years of happiness to her!
ReplyDeletenow, about those choco/peanut butter cookies...
Thanks GC, it felt nice to have that epiphany...especially after the breakdown I had shortly after graduating. Now I look back at that moment and laugh...moving on was a blessing in disguise. It's funny how the Universe works in our best interest, even when we can't see it at the moment.
DeleteShe looked so pretty! I'll forward that compliment to her.
Cookie recipe to come soon...unfortunately it doesn't come with the Brookside Chocolatier :(
DAMMIT! :(
DeleteJust did the wedding thing, too! Started out knowing 3 people there - the groom, one of his groomsmen, and his father. Left knowing a bunch more! Funny what an open bar can do.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great time. And yeah, every now and then is enough to revisit the "old days".
Peace <3
Jay
I couldn't agree more; it's nice to catch up, reminisce and go out like the old days, but that's about it.
DeleteHaha open bars are sure to make any wedding about 5x better, especially if you got uptight relatives that need a little extra something to loosen up. My friend was the only one drinking wine so the bartender tried giving her the entire bottle to drink out of three times. She rejected but it was a fun time...almost more fun at the bar than on the dance floor. Did you meet any gay bros at the wedding you were at?
Sadly, no gay guys. Given the crowd, I could well have been the only one there! I saw no dis-attached guys or same sex couples.

Awe everyone is so happy!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe vegan goodness looks so yummy. I even tried scrubbing my whole body with coffee grounds the other day; I am reporting that I don't see a difference but I only tried it once <3
I'm posting the recipe tomorrow! :)
DeleteYou added coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, sugar and vanilla extract (optional) to the coffee grounds, right? Otherwise solely scrubbing your body with coffee grounds is probably too harsh on your skin...even though I'm sure you smelt good afterwards. Lol The oils are what leaves your skin feeling uber moisturized, while the sugar and coffee grounds act as the exfoliators.
I use the vanilla latte sugar scrub every other day in the shower and recently started applying a thin layer of EVOO on my face before I go to bed.
